unsavory news
I heard some unsavory news a few days ago about somebody close to me. I try really hard not to think about it but it’s difficult to avoid, and when it crosses my mind it definitely makes me upset. Blah. I wish that I never knew about this. I guess that ignorance really is a bliss sometimes.
The purpose of a counter.
I used to think that all of those people sitting at the counter or barstool at starbucks or a cafe with their laptops or bookss were always pretentious posers. However, lately I have found myself sitting at them quite often. I now know what purpose these seats serve, they are for people who are single or just alone and don’t want to awkwardly take up space or get the sympathy stares from people sitting in pairs or groups. As I sit at a counter right now with my back towards the rest of the crowd, it just makes so much sense to me that this was built to avoid their eyes and prevent any feelings of being uncomfortable.
This is a really cute dog, though.
I’m fascinated by the former royal family, the Romanov’s. I find the Victorian era to be so haunting yet beautiful at the same time. I would just love to be a fly on the wall to see how life was like back then.
